Free 400-acre botanical garden at the foot of the dramatic Ko'olau pali (cliffs) — one of the most photogenic backdrops in Hawaii. Multiple themed garden sections, a large lake, and walking trails. The mountains rising directly behind the garden create the jungle-meets-mountain scenery often mistaken for Kauai in photos. Perfect half-morning add-on before or after Kailua beach.

Beautiful any time but especially dramatic during or after rain when waterfalls appear on the Ko'olau cliffs. Open year-round.
