Book the 2.5-hour Jurassic Adventure specifically, not the shorter Hollywood Movie Sites tour — you cover far more of the valley and the pacing is better. Morning slots are less crowded and cooler. Combine with the zip-line for older kids or teenagers and it fills a full, genuinely spectacular day.

Not to be confused with Kualoa Ranch next door — this is a free public beach park with one of the most striking settings on Oahu: a long white sand beach facing the small island of Mokoliʻi ("Chinaman's Hat") against a backdrop of fluted Ko'olau ridges. Walk right along the beach; the further you go, the fewer the people. Kayak out to Mokoliʻi at low tide. Almost Polynesian in feel — a world away from Waikiki.

Taste a dozen flavors (chocolate, coconut, wasabi, plain roasted), plus locally grown coffee prepared several ways. Not a formal tour — just wandering the farm and sampling. Good opportunity to buy quality local gifts without the Waikiki markup.
