Lānaʻi snorkel day by boat
Kāʻanapali
A day across the ʻAuʻau Channel to Lānaʻi's south shore. Boats may not operate or anchor inside Hulopoʻe Bay itself, which is part of the Mānele–Hulopoʻe Marine Life Conservation District, so a trip either snorkels a reef from the boat elsewhere on the coast or ties up in Mānele Harbor and lets guests walk over to Hulopoʻe Beach. For someone who does not swim, the landing version is the better choice: the beach, the large tide pools on the bay's left point and the ride itself make the day. Humpback whales are in Hawaiian waters from November to April, so winter crossings often see them; boats keep 100 yards away.
