Haʻikū
A 26-acre arboretum at mile marker 10.5 of the Hāna Highway, with more than 700 labelled plants, a large ti collection and lookouts over the coast and Keōpuka Rock. Most visitors spend between forty-five minutes and two hours. With restrooms, food and a safe place to stop, it is the natural turnaround for a shorter Road to Hāna day; it pairs with Twin Falls for a half-day taste of the highway. Swimming at the falls on the property is not allowed.
No reservation needed. Open daily 8 a.m.–4 p.m. $20 from age 16, $10 ages 5–16, under 5 free; discounts for residents, military, students and AAA. Restrooms and a food truck at the entrance; no pets. Paths are packed gravel, some uneven.
On the wet side of the island: rain showers are normal and paths can be slick.
