Waikīkī
A compact, well-maintained zoo in the heart of Waikiki — manageable for families with young children in 2 hours. Good collection of Hawaiian native birds and animals alongside African savanna and Southeast Asian exhibits. Go at opening before the day heats up. Combine with a morning at Waikiki Beach 10 minutes away.
Tickets at honoluluzoo.org or at the door. $21 adults / $13 children ages 3–12 / free under 3. Open daily 10am–4pm. Located on Kapahulu Ave at the Diamond Head end of Kapahulu.
Partially shaded. Hot midday — go at opening (10am) or late afternoon.
